The 27th Annual Vive le Livre is right around the corner! This year's event will take place on Thursday, September 12 and we have some great changes to share with you! As always, this will be an evening set aside to "celebrate the book" and to share with our community one of the literary world's best and brightest. Our speaker will be Pulitzer Prize-winning Southern author, Rick Bragg.
This year, the event will take place in the Thurber Auditorium at Randolph School. For those who donate at the Benefactor level ($500) or above, there will be a tented reception on the school lawn featuring Southern hors d'oeuvres and cocktails. Sponsors will be able to meet the author and enjoy food and fellowship with other library supporters. Following the reception, guests will move into the auditorium for the keynote address. Following the keynote, all attendees will be invited outside to the tent for dessert and coffee and book signing by Mr. Bragg.
What does this mean for Vive? It means change is coming! But... change is good. A lovely Southern evening in beautiful Jones Valley at a lovey new venue. No parking charge! An evening with an engaging author and speaker and sweet dessert to share with friends under the stars! Tickets for the keynote address, dessert and book signing will be $75. Also, for the first time, we will be selling tickets at all branch locations of the library and at several venues around town and on-line. Tickets will be availbe in mid-July.
The Huntsville-Madison County Public Library is a true asset to our community. When we support Vive le Livre, you support the whole library system and all it does for the citizens of Huntsville and Madison County. Come be part of the change!!
