How was my money used? Library Program Updates...

The Huntsville Library Foundation (HLF) understands that your donations are a sign of your love and respect for our community.  So in the comming weeks, I will tell you about the amazing programs your donations are bringing to life.

This year HLF was fortunate enough to be able to fund over $51,000 of innovative programing at branches all over the county.  I am proud to say that every branch recieved funding from HLF.

One of my favorite programs that just recieved a grant is the Madison Maker's Studio at the Madison Public Library.  The HLF awarded a $5,000 grant to support this teen favorite.  Madison Maker's Studio provides an outlet for teens to create music and videos. In addition to providing instruments and music for check out this grant increases program capability with the addition of video and recording equipment.

Madison Maker's Studio's goal is to increase creativity, foster connection through shared experience, and showcase learned skills.  Lastly, this program seeks to expand the boundaries of what a library typically does for a community.

With programs like this our library system continues to be one of the best in the state, and we hope to continue and improve upon that success.  We hope that programs like this one will inspire you, and make you as proud as I am to call Huntsville home.
