The North Huntsville Capital Campaign Committee will welcome bestselling author Tayari Jones to Huntsville on Thursday, August 2.

Jones is no stranger to Huntsville. Her mother, Dr. Barbara A.P. Jones is a retired Professor of Economics at Alabama A&M University and now sits on the capital campaign committee to build a new library for the North Huntsville community.

She and her hardworking colleagues on the campaign committee, will host Tayari Jones at a luncheon to celebrate her monumental bestseller and Oprah Book Club selection, An American Marriage. The event is a fundraiser for the new North Huntsville library.

“We are very excited to have Tayari in Huntsville to not only raise funds for this much-needed library, but to discuss this amazing story she has written,” said Kim Lewis, the North Huntsville Capital Campaign Chair.

The fundraiser begins at 11:30 a.m. on Thursday, August 2 at the Ernest L. Knight Reception Center on Alabama A&M University’s campus. Tickets are $50 per person and include a catered lunch. An American Marriage will be available for sale and Ms. Jones will sign copies.
