The Huntsville Library Foundation hosts an annual fundraising dinner called Vive le Livre, and they just commenced the Community Conversations author series. The success of these events is crucial to the mission of the Foundation. Contributions from ticket sales, donors, and sponsors benefit the Huntsville-Madison County Public Library System and makes services like the Digital Media Zone possible.
Vive le Livre (SOLD OUT)
Presented by the Olin B. King Foundation
Now in its 30th year, Vive le Livre is an end-of-the-year gala celebrating libraries, books, and literacy. It is the goal of the Foundation to share with the community the literary world's best and brightest as we support the Huntsville-Madison County Public Library. This is the primary fundraiser for the Huntsville Library Foundation each year, and proceeds pay for the Digital Media Zone and programs and resources at all twelve library locations.
This year we are very proud and excited to announce that Erik Larson, world-renowned author of Dead Wake: Last Crossing of the Lusitania, Devil in the White City, and In the Garden of Beasts, will be our guest of honor and keynote speaker. The gala includes a cocktail reception with the author, a seated gourmet dinner, keynote address by Erik Larson, and a book signing afterward.
Join us at the Jackson Center, 6001 Moquin Drive, in Cummings Research Park on Wednesday, November 16. The evening will begin with an author reception at 6 p.m. followed by a seated dinner at 7 and the speaker at 8. Tickets start at $125 per person, and all proceeds benefit the Huntsville-Madison County Public Library.
*This year, as part of our 30th anniversary, we are having a special prize drawing that evening. When you purchase your event tickets, you can also purchase a chance to win one of the great prizes below. Chances are $20 each, or six for $100. Chances may also be purchased at the event.

Community Conversations is a new author series that brings authors of recently published books to the Huntsville area and is an informal discussion about themes from the books...and pretty much anything else the author and audience decide on through Q and A. This quarterly series has hosted Greg Iles, Homer Hickam, Ilsa J. Bick, and Anne Byrn thus far.
